1. Allow them to ask questions and express their opinions

Children and speech are synonymous. They usually pose many questions because they are at the age of learning. Parents should listen while the child is speaking or asking questions. Attentive listening makes children feel that their parents are interested in their questions, boosting their confidence in asking questions and giving comments. Conversely, if a child is scolded whenever they have a question, they will be insecure and hesitant to ask questions.

2. Let the children learn on their own

Give your children the opportunity to help. Allow them to help with simple housework, homework, etc.; it helps them practice patience. Congratulate your child if they achieve something to build up assertiveness.

3. Allow children to express themselves fully

Train your child’s analytical thinking skills and strengthen their thinking before acting. Do not restrict all the children’s activities because their thought processes are not as comprehensive as adults’. Some actions are done out of ignorance. Parents should allow their children to express themselves fully if they find it inappropriate. Always be ready to correct any wrong actions and explain the reasons to the child.

In addition to the three things above, it is crucial to appreciate when your child tries or gets things done. Children will be proud of themselves and will be encouraged to do things. Children believe that when they get compliments, it means that they are doing the right thing. A healthy upbringing helps children grow up to be responsible adults in society.
